An exploration into human beings’ relationship with time, the planet, and our ephemerality. Hannah’s work aims to ask if it is possible for humanity to exist as a force of nature, and to preserve existence as it is today; or are we an opposing force, destined to be mineralised and forgotten?

The installation is the set up of a system which evolves and changes during the exhibition. The sheets of paper are suspended into a table salt crystal solution, and are gradually being crystallised.

This time-based process looks to questions what happens when humans try to exercise control over nature. The four channel recording is ever-changing and never repeats, and is inspired by the historic practice of chanting.
