Lynette Darleen is a Rotterdam-based video artist, exploring the boundaries between science, history and art within imaginary worlds. With her videos and installations she translates trivial and forgotten aspects of daily life into surreal sceneries. Besides the content, Darleen gives aesthetics an important role in her work. She’s fascinated by how visually beautiful the smallest details can be and uses these elements in her work. Throughout her career she’s been trying to show her audience new worlds that can only be seen through the window of a screen. These constructed worlds, for her, are the reason that video is one of the strongest ways to communicate her fascinations.
