All participants in the Young Masters Exposition are eligible to compete for the MAF Young Masters Award and Audience Award.

The nominees for the Young Masters Award 2018 are:

Alexander van Bakel (Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam), Anaïs Bories (Design Academy Eindhoven), Anne Fie Salverda (Academy for Pop Culture, Leeuwarden), Friedrich Boell (Kunsthochschule für Medien, Cologne), Jakub Valtar (Frank Mohr, Groningen), Jelle Reith (Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam), Jihen Ben Chikha (Institute of Fine Arts, Sousse), Lena Weisner (Academy for Angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst, Hildesheim), Oscar van Leest (Artez, Arnhem), Timbre Vibes (School of the Arts) , Utrecht) and Wouter Smit (Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam).

On Sunday, December 2nd there will be an official presentation of the Young Masters Award 2018 by the international jury, and the Audience Award will off course be presented as well. The jury consists this year of sound artist Selu Herraiz (E), performance artist Laurenz Theinert (DE) and Alex Lehmann Bryner (CH) student in Postindustrial Design and member of the Swiss collective Bildspur.

Young Masters of 2017, Astrid Bink will return to tell us about what happened in the last year since winning the prize. Finally, we will toast to all the artists of MAF and LUNA 2018.



Astrid Bink won the MAF Young Masters Award 2017 for her work Artificial Movement and received an artist in residency spot of one month at AADK Spain, near the Spanish town of Blanca.

The MAF Audience Award was awarded to the Swiss collective Bildspur for their interactive light installation LED Forest.
