Sheng Jie Snow
Phantom
How do humans perceive space under different circumstances? Are we more inspired in darker spaces? How can we stimulate interactions within a confined area? Sheng Jie Snow brings these questions to her light installation, Phantom. In a dark space, swinging vases create a glass symphony accompanied by mesmerizing shadow movements, drawing the viewer into a state of peaceful attention. The work draws on the artist’s efforts to extract and share philosophical values from the ordinary objects that surround us.
Sheng Jie Snow obtained a master’s degree in fine art and design from Frank Mohr Institute (Groningen 2020). Her works comprise an arrangement of photography, video, sound, and interactive installations. Sheng is interested in exploring the relationship between humans and space.
