Kompost Presentaties

KOMPOST is a temporary, experimental sanctuary for image makers and sound artists in or from Friesland. From the disciplines of image and sound, for each edition two makers are invited to work together for a week on a short audiovisual composition. The setting for each residency is a unique location in Friesland.

KOMPOST aims to be a booster for Frisian sound art and visual talent that does not bend to pop structures. The participants operate in an environment where the terms sound and music, sight and image are interchangeable and create a composition that questions rather than confirms.
During LUNA we will show the result of the duos, being: Jurre Bakker & Myrthe Kooijmans, Bas Metz & Vincent Westra, Jochem Knoef & Ivo Kraan, Jonathan Bergsma & Niek de Vries, Esker van de Werken & Drico Ligthart, Abel de Grefte & Jurjen Jellema Gert Boersma & Marc Henri Queré.

No content frameworks are set in advance by the organization for the composition to be made. The location is what binds both disciplines during the residency. How the location is incorporated into the composition and how the disciplines are brought together is up to the makers themselves. From KOMPOST we emphasize innovation and stepping outside your own comfortable framework.
