In her garish and raw video installation Lekker koese lytse boef, Berber Struiksma completely undresses fairy tales using light and textiles. Starting with the fairy tale of the fashion industry, which seems dependent on a certain level of pretension; is it really necessary? With her DIY ethos, Berber pokes fun at this pretension and sets out to find an alternative. The brightly coloured projections, on recycled textiles and paper, produce characters that, like computer viruses in your computer, nestle in your reality. Berber characters create their own fairy tale with a new hierarchy.
