Jamila Faber (NL) | LUPUS

“There is a wolf inside of me. He is keeping an eye on me. Sometimes he keeps quiet, and at other times he attacks mercilessly. Will he catch me or will I learn to tame him?”

There is a wolf inside of every human being. A wolf, who is unpredictable. Dangerous. Treacherous. He always lies in wait to devour you. You never know when he will show up, how blood-thirsty he will be this time and how long he will stay. But he is always close-by. And he will come. Whatever you do, he will come. The wolf whispers that you are not good enough, inferior, a screw-up, that no one can love you. Do you believe him?

In Lupus (the Latin word for wolf) Jamila Faber tells the story of a girl and her wolf. By using very delicate paper cutting and overhead projectors, electronic music and ominous bits of text she creates the world that normally only exists in her head. Can she live with the wolf?
