AJYSK!
On 11 and 12 May, Media Art Friesland’s LUNA Collective bid farewell to the shopping centre on Snekertrekweg. Once an iconic building that housed many supermarkets and other shops, now the first step towards the new Spoordok. With AJYSK!, the LUNA Collective mused on what was and what is yet to come.
Many Liwwadders still remember the Maxis, Jumbo, Aldi and many other supermarkets and shops in the building on Snekertrekweg. Soon, this building will be demolished to make way for the new Spoordok area.

On 11 and 12 May 2023, Media Art Friesland bid farewell to the view from their office on Snekertrekweg. The light artwork is a joint concept of the LUNA Collective members. The graphic realisation is done by Leeuwarden-based artist Anne Fie Salverda. She drew inspiration for the visuals from the fact that she herself used to get her groceries at the shopping complex for years. Now, in her visuals, she dreams about the past and the future of this place. The sounds are made by Marinus Groen and Michel Pitstra.
LUNA Collective is a changing group of Media Art Friesland/LUNA team members, for this occasion consisting of: Age Dijkstra, Jan Herman de Boer, Ryanne van der Leer-Keulen, Anne Fie Salverda, Marinus Groen, Andrea Möller, Michel Pitstra, Stefan Aleksandar Jovanovski and Gabe Kamphuis.
